Crossing over from corporate to social service sector
On a rather cold Sunday morning in December, around sixty corporates from across Bangalore were huddled together in Basavangudi. They listened intently as speakers who work in the social service sector presented their ideas on how to make a successful transition from the corporate world to social services sector. The event, labeled 'Workshop on crossover from corporate to social services sector' was organized by Youth for Seva , an organization known for their pioneering work in marshaling of volunteers for social causes . Youth for Seva is itself composed of people who left their corporate responsibilities behind to heed the call for nation building. The speakers enthralled the audience with their own experience in making the switch, what to expect and how to take the plunge.
